The HIV prevention, engagement and care cascade (see figure below) refers to a series of steps that are important for maintaining and improving the health of people living with HIV and preventing HIV transmissions. The cascade is a popular framework for guiding the response to HIV and is central to Ontario’s provincial HIV/AIDS strategy and the UNAIDS 90-90-90 targets. The overall purpose of OHESI is to contribute to achieving the vision, mission and goals of Ontario’s HIV/AIDS Strategy.
